Memorial Health Services Inc. (MHS) operates a nonexclusive, messenger-model physician hospital organization (PHO) in the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Enrolling physicians, hospitals, outpatient facilities and other allied health care providers as members, MHS creates a network that may, in turn, be contracted to third parties to provide services to their constituency. The stated goals of MHS include:
- Arranging for the provision of cost-effective health care for contracted third parties
- Improving the quality of care through network utilization management and quality control
